Summary of Donations to ALS Association - OR & SW WA Chapter (Funded!)

UPDATE: We met and surpassed our goal! Thank you!! Goal: $1,000 Raised: $3,819 We are now helping build a musical park in Bruce's honor: http://bit.ly/Donate-Marbin-Musical-Park === The Oregon and SW Washington Chapter of The ALS Association provides support and resources for people living with ALS, their families, and caregivers living in the State of Oregon and the six counties of Southwest Washington. Leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. After first experiencing difficulties with his legs, Bruce was diagnosed with ALS and lived bravely, creatively, and generously with the disease for over ten years. He became an activist in advocating for accessibility for people with physical disabilities. He created and managed an annual event, Wheelchair with the Mayor, to teach the community about the obstacles, resources, and experiences of people with mobility needs. He also served on advisory councils, steering committees, and task forces that worked on accessibility issues on the Oregon State University campus and in the cities of Corvallis and Bend, Oregon. He was active in the ALS Support Group of Central Oregon, encouraging others and getting them to laugh. Bruce and his wife Jana received many services from the ALS Association, including in-home care, respite, loans of equipment, and guidance. We solicit donations to this fund to further research to prevent and cure this disease, and in the meantime to provide services to people and families effected by ALS.
